Pasta sauce made of tomatoes, shrimps and mussels

If you ask my husband and my youngest daughter what kind of pasta we should make they practically always wish for this one, their all time favourite. And why not, it is a very tasty dish – so let’s skip all the elaborate stories and make some sauce.

PORTION: 4 servings
TIME TO MAKE: about 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 yellow onion
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • a handful of fresh (or 1 teaspoon of dried) basil
  • can of mussels
  • 2 dl shrimps
  • salt, black pepper

Chop the onion very finely and put it in a pot with a little bit of oil in the bottom. Crush the garlic cloves and mix with the onions. Let the mixture sweat for a while.

Add the crushed tomatoes, as well as all the needed seasoning – oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Add mussels and simmer before adding the shrimps. They only need to warm up a bit and then the sauce is done.

Serve with pasta, either normal or gluten free. Grate some mozzarella cheese on top.
