Sauce with herb cream cheese

To be served with any kind of fried meat. Cream sauces are quick to make and really tasty. When making this kind of sauce for steaks for example the dripping forms a great basis for the whole sauce – so don’t wash the pan after frying the steaks but rather add the cream in the unwashed pan and flavour to your taste.

Any kind of herb cream cheese can be used to give more taste – or why not just natural cream cheese, and then if you feel like it complete the taste with fresh herbs or garlic.

The sauce in the picture has been flavored with chive cream cheese. Its taste was quite mild but nice. But as I mentioned you can use any kind of cream cheese as a substitute.

PORTION: 2 servings
TIME TO MAKE: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 dl cream
  • 3 tablespoons of herb cream cheese
  • cut spring onions (to your taste)
  • salt and black pepper (to your taste)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Pour the cream in the hot pan and mix it with the dripping. Add cream cheese and onions and let it simmer until the cream is thick enough (that usually takes from five to ten minutes).

Add some lemon juice and taste, season with salt and black pepper if needed.

Serve with any kind of meat and other side dishes.
